BuddyHi, I’m Buddy, a nine-year-old spaniel mix weighing only 42 pounds, and my foster mom says I’m one of the cutest guys she’s ever spent time with. I’m happy to share my foster home with two younger dogs, who are nice but not nearly as wise as I am! As they say, youth is wasted on the young. . . I’m told I’m very easy to care for, as I don’t require long walks. I’m just happy to go out a couple of times a day, and despite some weakness in my back legs, I motor around the house quite well, especially when it’s mealtime! I don’t bark a lot, although I do like to greet breakfast and dinner with a hearty “roo-hoo!” Giving kisses is also one of my favorite pastimes. Precious“Precious is a gorgeous, healthy, three-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She has sparkling blue-gray eyes and comes in at a petite 40 pounds.
Precious bonds hard and fast with her people and loves nothing more than to curl up “cinnamon bun” style at the foot of the bed or to drape herself over her foster parents’ laps while they’re sitting on the couch. She is protective of the home (will sound a warning bark if she hears someone at the door), but extremely friendly with other dogs, tots, and adults she meets on her walks.
Precious has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time - she’s gone from having virtually no leash manners to walking nicely on a lead using a harness, and she’s already mastered “come,” “sit,” “down,” “up,” and “off” (the furniture). She’s very intelligent, if easily distracted, and is highly food-motivated, making her very easy to train.
That combination plus great when people go to work, and stay quietly and wait for them to come home makes her great as an apartment dog also for people who work all day
